Matthew Sharkey is a fully licensed Associate, and an asset to Braden Equities Inc., offering four years of experience in property management along with a passion for building strong communities. His journey into real estate began from an investment perspective, sparking an interest that quickly grew into a career. Determined to expand his knowledge, Matthew educated himself in the field and began as a leasing agent before progressing into a management role. This experience provided him with a strong foundation in property operations, tenant relations, and leadership.
Passionate about creating value for both properties and people, Matthew is motivated by the impact his role can have on improving communities and enhancing residents’ experiences. He thrives on the dynamic nature of property management—solving problems, applying creativity, and adapting to new challenges each day. He finds the ever-changing environment of the industry both engaging and rewarding, keeping him motivated and on his toes.
Matthew is recognized for his approachable and easygoing personality, paired with his professionalism, patience, and strong communication skills. While he admits to being overly critical of himself at times, he sees this as a driving force that pushes him to continuously improve. Outside of his professional role, Matthew is very family-oriented and strives to make a positive impact on those around him, including friends, family members, and colleagues. He admires his mother greatly for her resilience and strength in raising him and his two brothers after the passing of his father, and he credits her as one of his biggest inspirations.
In his personal time, Matthew enjoys listening to music and comedy podcasts, as well as reading history, science fiction, and autobiographies. He also loves spending time outdoors with family and friends, particularly travelling and camping. Looking ahead, his goals over the next one to two years include purchasing his first property and building a strong real estate portfolio, aligning his personal ambitions with his professional passion for the industry.
